Probably not. The schedule for conversion to digital set forth by the FCC keeps getting pushed back. I would guess that if you haven't replaced your TV by 2010 you will have to get a set-top conversion box which will probably be subsidized by the federal government. My advice would be to hold on to your current TV as long it still runs good and save your money until just before the big change. Most channels have't switch totally to HDTV yet and unless you have a Hi Def cable box you cannot get them anyway. The longer you can wait the less expensive the new sets will be. That's what I am going to do. I would expect your TV to be alive and usable well past 2007. Even once analog NTSC transmissions have been turned off you will be able to use it with a converter. This change by the powers that be is arbitrary and seemingly done simply for the sake of giving them something to do. NTSC is over 60 years old, but does it job well. It is costing everyone a small fortune to convert.
