why do they say not to put under the cabinet TVs near microwave? What does it do to it?

It can cause signal interference and mess up the TV's reception. I am assuming the microwaves interfere or damage the tv screen.... the magnet in the mocrowave messes up the tv screen any rays goign through a tv or monitor bend the light coming out. im not entirely sure what microwaves would do, but i imagine it cant be much worse then if you were to put a big magnet near a tube tv. You did not say what kind of items you're talking about but anything that could be effected by radiation should not be near TVs or microwaves because both give off radiation. Wireless
phones and some other electronic items can be effected. Microwave emit interference, just about all of the under the counter tv's I have seen work off antennas. The reception is alot worse the closer you get to the microwave. Same with your cordless phone. It won't actually hurt the tv, or the microwave, and you may get fine reception there, but in most cases it would be better somewhere else.
