why are TVs square & not round?

Because they would roll off your TV cabinet! Because there nicknames are boxes! The first ones were round. Nobody liked them.

I suppose historically it would be more convinient for it to be a box to incorporate all the components they used to have but now everything is smaller it could work! The same reason why you are.. Mine's rectangular. to ensure that you watch your movies upright and not upsidedown. you have to ask the inventor....... they are not square at all it upto u from where ur looking at look it from back it not square.....haaa tv are more square for maximum vision and the filmmakers in the old days film things on tapes and tapes come in strips which have a series of frames as rectangles. Like an animation. Square has more area than a circle. With circles, we will have problems with subtitles!! it would work with circles but it is more wasteful.
