Will my TV bought in UK work in India?
I have a Philips TV which can handle both PAL/NTSC. I would like to bring this to India when we return and was wondering if it will work there. Thanks.

Yes It works, UK pal is compatable, almost All TV work except the one in France which is SECAM.
But the transport cost more than the TV cost Unless it's a LCD/Plasma.
Since 29" CTV cost < 20K now a days.. dont worry it will work perfectly in india.u wont have to face no problem with ur tv. If it can do PAL and NTSC, you are probably OK. Some countries use SECAM, but that is a French system, and with India's British influence, I would not expect that SECAM would be used there. (Sets sold in the Middle East nowadays can handle all three formats.) But take careful note of the power supply: UK uses 240 volts, and I don't know whether the frequency is 50 or 60 Hz; India may be the same -- or maybe not. If your set can handle 120 or 240, and both 50 and 60 Hz, you should be good to go. ya it will work. since the pic std is same in both india and UK. - 625 NTSC is used. TVs in USA and FRance may not. it was proberbly made in India, so maybe it will.
