Widescreen TV question.?
Has anyone had this happen. I've owned my widescreen TV for over two years, and three times in that span, I have been watching cable TV in "normal" mode, and the screen has "blinked" over into wide mode, and back to normal mode, without me touching anything. Is this just a random signal that came through my cable connection, or what would cause this? It isn't a regular thing, but it's kind of freaky when it happens.

I have owned my wide screen for a year and that has never happened to me. It sounds like a signal thing going on. If you have satelite that woud problably be the case. Your connections shouldn't do that, but it wouldn't hurt to check them. If you are on cable check with your service provider. Yes this is due to the settings in the set up options screen. go to menu then to screen set up you will find = 4.3, 14.9, 16.9, zoom and auto.
Make sure you choose windscreen 16.9 and not auto zoom. hope this is clear to understand. good luck. carl is correct could also be called auto- format
