Another simple tv question?
I have just purchased a new t.v. and on my prior t.v.(which is in my room, the main one is located in the living room) had cable(channel 35, 50, 71, etc.) and now when I hooked up my new t.v. the cable is no longer available. I have hooked in the cable plug-in, but is there anything else I need to do to get my cable back?

Actually the TV you have purchased is probably not compatible with your cable service. To fix this you have to buy a new TV. This has happened to me quite a few times. Your new TV may not have a cable tuner in it. If you bought an HD monitor that would be the culprit. Some new HD TVs dont have an analog tuner but they have a digital tuner. Some dont have any tuner at all.
To be sure check through all the menus on your new tv and make sure its not set to antenna, set it to cable. Or auto-detect. Make sure its set to the input your cable is hooked to (some tvs have more than one). You need to go into the main menu on the new TV & look for initial set-up or " auto-programming". Start that process going with the TV on , set on channel 3(I think, unless the guide says something else). What this does is allow the tuner in your TV to scan through the channels you have available, & the tuner's memory will store the channels, & it will recognize them again .
