A LCD tv question - one for the purists?

Is there a difference between the samsung LE32R88BD and the samsung LE32R87BD. In fact this applies to 26 inch screens as well. It seems they are the same product but some stores charge less/more for one or the other. Is the R88 more advanced? thanks

the answer to your question is that there is no difference in the spec as they are the same screen (lg) sound, contrast etc. it is that the samsung le32r88 is made for currys and the le32r87 is made for comet and all other specialists. they only other minor detail is the r88 has a clear v shape at the bottom and the r87 hasnt. hope this helps I don't know if this applies to these particular models, but some manufacturers give different model numbers to a range of very similar products. Each is then exclusive to a different retail chain. That's how Curry's can offer "If you see the same product advertised elsewhere for less, we'll refund half the difference". You might find the same product, but it will be a different model. Both are junk. Poor quality Samsungs.

Samsungs are unreliable junk.

I and many other Samsung dealers in my area dropped Samsung line due to poor support along with high failure rates.

Get a Sony,Toshiba or a Panasonic. GO ON CURRY'S WEB Page you can click on them to compare it will tell you the specs they have not sure if the 88 means model update has for price difference each store has different offers google the best prices for TVs when you checked out the specs i have 40 inch samsung had it 18months would recommend it to you great TV no problems enjoy What the 2nd dude said! You MIGHT find stores that say they'll MEET or BEAT the price...PLUS give an additional 10% off.

They'll buy a different model number than all the other stores in their area..

No difference, except in the MODEL number...
