480,720,1080, Is and Ps whats it all mean, which is best?

These are all NTSC TV resolutions. 480i is the resolution you would see on your standard TV program. 480p is the same resolution, but it uses a technique called progressive scanning, so the picture quality (PQ) is improved. 720p is the start of HD. The difference from SD (standard definition) to HD is a big leap. 1080i is another resolution. 1080i is good for a regular HD broadcast, but for sports, all you are going to see is 720p. 1080p is the greatest, but from your eye, you don't really see the difference. All the other signals are lesser detail for the TV picture.and the TV automatically processes them, so you don't have to do anything short of making sure your BOX is set for 1080 Video output...(it's in the menu on the box)
