when you call germany from the usa, how does it go thru? do you jus dial all the numbers?

there are more numbers in german telephone numbers, so why when i call it says "please check the code again"?

From the US, dial 011, then the two digit country code for Germany, then all the digits of the German number. It sounds as if you omitted the country code. You usually need three things.

[1]: The access number used in your country to use the international phone network. In my case in Australia it is 0011 for voice or 0015 for faxes.

[2]: The country code of the country you want to call. For example the USA is "1" for people calling from outside USA into USA. Australia is "61". I think Germany is 49.

People usually publish their own phone number using a plus sign first "+" then the country code for their country, then their area code and phone number.

The "+" plus sign means "insert here whatever number you have to use to dial out of your own country" (as described in 1 above).

3: Their full domestic number including area code. Note that here, if theres a leading zero on the area code, that is omitted.

For example my phone number including area code is similar to this:-

(03) 9416 1234

To show that as an internationally dialled number it looks like this for Australia (dropping the leading zero).

+61 3 9416 1234

Similarly for a mobile phone number like this 0419 123 456

I would show it as +61 419 123 456.

The number you want in Germany would be something like

+49 999 999 9999 so again you replace the "+" with that number you need to dial out of USA.
