Just put a "1" before the full code and you should get through ok. 00 1 Its 001 1 you can use 00 followed by the country code, for the US & Canada thats 1. Theoretically it should eb the same the world over + for international then country code eg +1. Unlike UK numbers there is no stripping off of the leading number required 001 yes to call to the US from the UK you dial 00 (which tells the UK exchange equipment that it's an international call). Then you dial 1 (which tells the exchange equipment it's the US/Canada), and then the full ten digit number. There are no leading zeros to strip off.
for example 001 123 555 4567
To call from the US to the UK it's 011 44 (44 being the UK country code) and then the full number but stripping off the leading zero.
so... (01795) 986567 becomes 011 44 1795 986567 0011 001 then state code.
