Will I have to re-wire my phone lines (using Vonage) if I switch from Cable to DSL?
I currently have a cable modem to access the internet. If I get Vonage, or another VOIP provider that allows a person to use land based telephones, would I need to have the technician come back out to re-wire if I switched to DSL in the next few months (I am NOT satisfied with cable at all, but that's another story . . . keeps dropping packets).

no, its real easy....just plug the cat5 cable into the modem>>>plug into the analog phone....it just looks hard...but you gotta follow instructions!!! many times DSL is better then cable for VoIP, especially for vonage..there are many problem with vonage and cable..if you need more info go to dslreports.com I'm on there too helping ppl....

All the technician did is is put filters on ALL of the phone lines, and plug in the router. Took him about five minutes. You do have to make sure that you put filters on all your current phone lines or you may have problems with it. The filters were also provided by the phone company. They are cheap enough if you have to supply them. Hope this helps Your Vonage router is plugged into your DSL modem now. The phone line plugs into the Vonage router too. All you will need to do is disconnect the CAT5 cable that runs from the DSL modem to the Vonage router and connect it from the cable modem to the Vonage router. Simple task.
