Why do Telephones usually start ringing with a full drawn-out ring but?
other times with only a partial ring?????_?_?_?_
Answer:
Has to do with the ringing cycle of a telephone (2 on, 4 off) and as your call travels not all the cycles match up to the end cycle which actually does the ringing to the called phone for various reasons (transmission differences, surges, multiple switch relays congestions, etc).
So while the phone is ringing as it should the return indicator to you can be cut short or cut off for various reasons that are not actual troubles but just complications of the process of multiple equipment running the cycles at different times.
The *Biggest* cause of this though is the new digital sound phones in which case your phone itself is causing the change in the normal ringing cycle not because it is broken but because snippets of the real soundwave are being cut and chopped into digital format hmmmmm, I guess on the first ring there is still all the juice in them! They ring every 5 seconds so it depends where in the 5 second period the signal hit the phone.
