What is this loud buzzing noise on my phone line?
I've connected a phone to the NID (Network Interface Device), at least there I can here WABC radio and the hum is less. Inside the house... I can here nothing but this loud buzzing sound. I've diconnected all the phones and reconnected one a t a time but the noise is still there. Verizon says it cannot come until Saturday. Please help...

You have a ground loop problem or a power supply filter shorted.

When Verizon comes out tell the field tech to test the cable pair if you get a hum at NID too even if much softer.
