I saw some lines hanging from the pole in the alley and it made me wonder if someone was cutting into them so they could hook up to the Internet illegally.

Then I realized they would not be able to use the Internet without a username, password, and a legitimate account on their computer.

Which the phone companies department of security would pick up on if they were tapping in from other then their home phone. Which would probably set off alarms at the ISP since it was not coming from a regular source.
