Can you hide the phone number you call by dialing a different number first, then bypassing it?

I hear there's a way to dial phone numbers, press a certain sequence of keys right when someone picks up the line, then dial a second number immediately afterwards, yet when the phone bill comes out it only shows that you dialed the first number. It's like using the first dialed number as a proxy, to hide the second number you dial so no one can trace where you actually called. I know it exists because it's been done to me before and I tried it once to see if it really works, but I don't remember what the name of the feature is. I suspect my dad's been using this method to call his mistress by calling my cell phone first, waiting until I pick up the line and say "hello?", then dialing a second number. The last time he did this, the phone bill only shows he called me for a minute, but Mom says he was on the phone for an hour laughing at the time that call happened, so something's up. Nobody believes me or knows what I'm talking about when I bring this up. Sound familiar to anyone?

I have heard of that before...my aunt used to do it all the time because her bf was psychotic..idk what it was but it does exist. Theres also one to make your number private.awesome technology. I can't think of what it is called ether but I know what you are talking about. you can't trace the call your self and your phone bill will not have the number on it but the phone company can trace both calles. the phone company wont give out that kind of information to you though Okay... I don't know what it is called, but i know how to do it.
