British Telecom nightmare..any ideas to help please?

I moved into a house a few months back...and was expecting to rent the property and cancelled the previous owners phone line - as they left it still running. Now i phoned BT one month ago as i have decided to live in the property now to re activate

a line with a new number and they told me it would take 24 hours. One month later i still have no phone line and cannot get a clear answer from BT why or even get through on the phone to talk to anybody at BT. Is there another phone number to talk to them on.

http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/ph... Go somewhere else for your service provider then. There are plenty out there begging for customers. Tiscali, Sky, Virgin, etc. They all do packages of home phone, broadband, and television.

Personally, I wouldn't touch BT with a bargepole. They are WAY too expensive. Have you thought about going to a different phone company, like TalkTalk? They can deal with everything for you and you won't even have to call BT again. And you can bet that as soon as BT hear from TalkTalk (or whoever you choose) they will do all they can to get you back again! Ofcom

write to them your full complaint after you phone BT and let them know your complaining about them to OFTEL (ofcom is now oftel) and ask for the persons name your dealing with, they know your full name its only fair you know theirs. if they refuse to give it demand their supervisor. two of my neighbours were experiencing similar problems, BT wanted to charge ￡100 + to activate phone with new number, however I was able to tell them old numbers and they were able to install new phone but retain old number,all for the cost of a phone.Have you tried contacting them through their web site? we are not obliged to give out our full names so put that in your pipe and smoke it, whoever said you have the right to know our full names!
