BT, Virgin Media or Sky? Which is the best broadband provider?

Who is the best broadband provider out of BT, Virgin Media and Sky? I know BT are the most expensive but generally, i think they are very reliable and have good customer service. Are the lower prices of Virgin Media, and esp Sky, at the expense of a good service? I'm staying away from AOL, Orange and ESPECIALLY talk talk so please don't recommend them.

I'm on BT, i got option 1 cos i didn't need any of there extras, think its ￡10 for 6 months then about ￡16 for 6 months so its not expensive. never had any problems, there customer service is good even though it can take a while to get them on the phone. id recommend BT i was watchin watch dog a couple of months ago and they recommended BT if you can afford it, if not Virgin is a good second, also some of the lesser known broadband companies did well but BT and Virgin came out tops. having been with BT for many years i can only recommend them. I would not remend any of the ones you listed. I would recommend Tiscali as never had any probs with them. Trust me, BT do not have the best network. In terms of actual infrastructure, Virginmedia are the only one with a dedicated, entirely fibre-optic, wholly owned network. All the others kind of piggy back off the other network "Landlords" meaning that they can't always offer guarantees of service level as they aren't responsible for resolving a fault / developing or improving the network.. TalkTalk in particular use this method, known in the industry as "Carrier Pre Select".
