2nd phone line?

to wire a jack for 2 lines:

if your wire is green-red-yellow-black

connect green-green red-red yellow-yellow and black-black, go to the NID outside where the line was connected and connect green-red to line 1 (this should already be done, unless you want to change what line 1 is) and connect yellow-black to line 2

If your wire is blue/white, (solid blue), orange/white, (solid) orange etc (there may be more colors...)

then connect blue/white to green, (solid) blue to red orange/white to yellow, and (solid)orange to black, then go to the NID outside where the line was installed) and connect blue/white, (solid)blue to line 1, and orange/white (solid) orange to line 2 Just get a 2 line telephone. I have a 2 line cordless phone and it makes different ring sounds for each line. The two line phone mentioned in the previous answer will have two plugs to connect from the phone to the wall jacks. Connect one of the plugs to your home phone line and one of the plugs to your business phone line. The phone will take care of the rest.

As for the DSL on your home line, just make sure you install the filter between the phone and the home phone jack.
