Which Phone should I buy Sony Ericsson's P990i or O2 XDA II?

Depends on what you want...Honestly...I am a Pocket PC (HP) loyalist...but also I love Sony Ericsson... I have had pretty much every 800/900 series (i have a p990i) since they came out...along with every iPaq since the h3600 series. Right now I go between my hw6900 pocket pc phone (Windows Mobile like the XDA) and my p990i. The only thing I would say about the p990 is that it is a different OS. Though you can skin it to look like a windows device, I find it a bit more productive to use an actual windows mobile device for transfering and Sync'ing. Also since there is no 3g service yet in the us, I can only take real advantage of the phone with video calling when I am in the UK/Europe. So it is a toss up between what type of OS you want to deal with, and if you live in the US or UK/Europe to use true 3g..
