What is the perfect international phone/pda device?
Help please! My cell phone is no longer completely sufficient. I need unfettered internet access and a phone. My travels to Europe are more frequent (2 or 3 times a month) and I need a device that I can make function in the same way there.
Question one is what device would best suit my needs--I won't be opening any large files or storing many pictures.
And question two is how would I make this work overseas--is it as simple as buying a simcard in my destination country to switch out?

It has been proved time after time that for such functions as your requirements the Treo 650 is the best .. Buy an unlocked phone from Palm.com or at any cingular store...
The unlocked phone can be used with any GSM SIM card ..the Treo is quad band and thus would work anywhere in the world... I have used it in several countries and it worked flawlessly... As for the Internet access the Treo 650 has no built-in wi-fi card but if your sim card (be it subscribion or pre-paid) has internet service then you do not need any thing extra.. The Treo 650 can be fitted with a wi-fi adapter .. from www.enfora.com to use on hotspots around the world.... any nokia phone or samsung phonewill do the job
