What is the difference between an MP3 Player and a IPOD, if there is any difference at all.?
And what would be the best kind to get.

There are many different brands of MP3 players out there now. (Creative, Sony, Samsung, SanDisk).
An IPOD is the MP3 Player made by the company Apple.
As for which one to get it's all up to you. Each MP3 player has different features. Some play videos as well as music, some store pictures, some have built in fm radios, etc. It depends what you're going to use it for. If you're using it to work out with you might want to get an IPOD Shuffle, they are very tiny and generally good for taking a beating. If you LOVE music you might want to look for one with very large storage space (40 gig or above is VERY good). If you want to watch tv shows on it as well as music an IPOD would be very good for you because you can actually download lots of tv shows right onto your IPOD and watch them (you can get them from itunes).
However, MP3 players do range in price anywhere from under $100 to over $300, so do your homework and shop around. As it gets closer to Christmas I'm sure Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and many other retailers will have some pretty good sales on them (although IPODs rarely go on sale....they are pretty much set in price). You can get non-Ipod MP3 players with all the same features and storage as Ipods. ipods are better than a regular mp3 player, mp3 players don't hold as much music an ipod is an mp3 player Everybody knows an iPOD is the best to get. its up to you .. basically what you got is to different companies fighting to make it in this world... i think i would go with the ipod only because they have done so much to go with it and you don't here much complaints about it.. remember i, now its kind of like PlayStation... first there was Nintendo then PlayStation, PlayStation 2 now PlayStation 3... theres no wrong answer here IPOP has different versions one for just music purpose other one is for music with video.
