Nono these guys are wrong. What you do is flip the "Hold" switch on and off 3 times, then press and hold both the center and Play buttons. This is equivalent to restarting your computer.
One time my iPod (30gb video) frozen on the "Do not Unplug" screen, so I looked on the Apple website, and found this. Don't worry, it's not broken. Good luck!
p.s. YOU DON'T HAVE TO ERASE ALL OF YOUR SONGS the reset for iPod nano may be different than video, if what I said doesnt work, check the Apple website.
Also, make sure when you're toggling the "Hold" switch that it's off when you hold the Play+Center buttons (duh) xD
Again, Good Luck! go to your ipod in itunes and click restore it means it will take off al your songs and put them back on oh and also check if hold is on www.apple.com/ipod/support hlod the middle and play button at the same time hold it until it turns off ond back on usually that helps
