it HAS to be a PDA!! we're on cingular...but he's kind of poor...well he's only 14...so what kind of PDA should he get...a cheap one...tho...he wants your opinions. So dont say to go to the website...help!

Are you allowed to renew your contract or are you signing a new one? There are many choices that influence the price of the phone. And does he want it to look like a PDA or just have the PDA features?
You have 2 options with CIngular: if you want to get the phone for like 20-100 bucks or somethin cheap, you're going to have to sign a contract or renew one. If you want a larger choice of phones but for a slight premium, buy it online.
Heres my list for phones you get direct from Cingular.
If you need PDA features without the bulky pda look, Cingular has the Nokia N75, which is a REALLY nice phone. SYmbian (OS it uses) is a smartphone OS so it should qualify slightly as a PDA.
If you're willing to pay data fees every month, the Blackberry series is something you should look into, since it comes with mobile email and internet.
I guess you won't get an iPhone, so let's move on
I've never been a fan of the Treo. It's bulky and Windows Mobile isn't the best platform in the world.
And finally, the BlackJack is a pretty good phone. Maybe a little older, but it's pretty nice.
Keep in mind that PDA phones are generally not only more expensive, they are designed for the buisnessman in mind, so they aren't going to have all the robust entertainment features tht other phoens have. Except for the Nokia N series. there probably isn't any
