I found a package of AA batteries in my freezer that my brother had in there for a long time. will freezing batteries ruin them? i dont know if they are any good or not

They confirm that the cold, damp air of the refrigerator/freezer shortens the life and actually damages the battery itself. An airtight bag might help, though. if they stay in there for too long then i think they will...but i used to do that except i didnt put them in the freezer...i would put them in the refrigerator, which supposedly would recharge the batteries...i dont know if its tru though, but the batteries would have a little more energy in them the next day I have kept batteries in the freezer for a long time. It doesn't seem to hurt them, as long as they are just plain old alkaline or NiCad, etc. Seems to slow down their loss of charge. 'Course, I'm not an expert on this stuff, soooooo........ It probably will not ruin them. But I can tell you that it doesn't make them work better after being used. :) Put them in an air tight bag they should be ok , the use batterie in the North pole till about 80 degrees minus
