why isn't there any dvd rw double layer discs available?
i use dvd recordable discs but when they muck up you have to bin them and it gets expensive, thrown too many away. why isn;t there a dvd re-writable double layer discs to buy? they should have out them on the market years ago

They havent been perfected yet. The turnout rate is too low. In other words the demand isnt high enough and it isnt 100% probable that DVD-RW DL's would work with any DVD burners out there. I think its down to the technology not quite being right. Besides, you muck up a disc and bin it and you have to buy more, good ecconomics for the disc producers ...but not for you, me and everyone else!!! You can get dual layer DVD burners. Just type it into Google. The problem is the discs are still very expensive. Its cheaper to screw up half a dozen single layer discs than one dual layer. Sounds like what you really need is better burning software. Again just ask Google and you'l find loads of software you can trial. I'd recommend one called Clone DVD2. I know there are loads of them called Clone DVD but this is the one with sheeps head logo.
