why is the sound quality good when i play a recorded tape on my vcr but poor when i play it in any o
When I record shows onto a vhs tape, it plays fine on my tv and vcr but when i try to watch it elsewhere - the sound quality is poor. My vcr is almost brand new and I know other people who are having the same problem. Could it be the way it is hooked up? Something I need to adjust with the audio? Thanks

If the sound quality is good on the deck in which you made the recording, but not on other decks, chances are that the audio heads on your VCR are a bit out of adjustment. This would allow the machine to play its own sound tracks perfectly, but other decks would be a bit "off track."
