why is my ac motor moving in the opposite direction after a visit to the rewind workshop?

if it is a 3 phase motor, swap any 2 wires to reverse it

if it is a single phase, capacitor start motor, swapping the 'hot' and 'capacitor' wires should do the trick.

if it is an ac/dc brush style motor, reverse EITHER (but NOT both!!) the 2 field wires, or the 2 armature/brush leads . i dont know who knows????

go and ask the mechanic The power has been connected up the wrong way l......or they have rewinded the wrong hand........or the earth magnetic field has reversed over night........or you are looking at it from behind rather than the front I dont even know what a rewind workshop is. Sorry but good luck. If its single phase, the field coils have been misconnected, simple to fix. If its a big enough motor you will find the terminals inside the connection box, but you will not know what to change! and I cant see it. Take it back to the winders.

If its 3 phase, swap any two supply leads. dont know should have taken it to the FORWARD GEAR store oh dear. AC motors revolve based on the "slip" angle between the magnetic difference between the coils.
