why is my DVD player making the pictures red?
Just hooked up my DVD player for the first time in many months, after a house move. TV colours are fine as usual, but when I play DVDs the pictures are red - not good for watching the Simon Scharma art programmes!

could be a number of things, IE have you got a new TV, what make is the player, have you tried a different scart lead, have you tried another av input into TV, feel free to give me more info it may be a scart lead, try adjusting them/it its probably, the scart lead is not in properly. Try checking your scart/AV input cable, might be this. Otherwise it sounds like a contrast issue. Check it is set to RGB and not S-Video on the settings menu.
If you are using a cheap scart multi adaptor, this can also cause this. Alternatively, you may be trying to play an NTSC dvd as opposed to a PAL (or other way around). Check player and disc compatibility. Hi it sound like the scart lead, you may need a new on. The best ones are the copper ones, last for ages and you get a better picture. I had the same problem until I changed the scart lead. either the scart lead is slightly loose (either in the tv or the dvd player) or the TV is set to the RGB channel input.
That can make the colour look weird.
