My wife is severely "Directionally Challenged", my son suggested that to navigate, she should decide which way to turn, then turn the other way!
I got her the Garmin Street Pilot III. I can't say enough about this device. It has transformed her life. She calls is Gizmo Joe. Why, I don't know since the voice that gives the directions is distinctly female.
It is easy to use and now, instead of waiting for someone to take her somewhere, she can now go herself. And believe me she does! They are all pre-programmed and therefore, cannot account for easier ways to get from one place to another. In other words, they cannot think.
