XM or Sirius for Satellite Radio? Why? Is satellite radio worth the $12.95/month?

If you listen to a lot of radio, then this might be a good deal for you. But remember, Sirius has Howard Stern. Theyre paying him $100 million a year. If you think you get radio with no commercials for $12.95 a month, you're not thinking things through.
A lot of the just music stations are commercial free, but syndicated shows are not. They have to pay Stern somehow and a million customers a year at 12.95 (X 12 a year) is still only 15.5 million, not the $100 million Stern gets whether you listen or not. The rest of the money comes from commercials. ONe thing I always hated about Stern wasn't the content of the shows, it was taking a break every 15 minutes and running 8 minutes of continuous commercials. After a while, I just got sick of wading through all the stupid weight loss ads, to get a little comedy.
I was around before cable TV. Back then, the same pitch was used by cable companies to get people to switch over to cable from antennas: "You pay for the service and it's commercial free!" How commercial free is cable TV now? Heck, they have channels in the cable lineup which run nothing BUT commercials, called "Infomercials".
I listened to David Roth when he took over, he did indeed suck and I do think he was thrown out there with no support from CBS radio. I also listen to Adam Corolla sometimes, but mostly I listen to my MP3 player anymore. I just don't have that kind of disposable income.
