Is it the switch is not suitable or is it faulty?

because your pc is drawing a fair bit of current. Several amps, anyway. The operating current of that switch may be between 3 and 6 amps, per spec, but I'd have been tempted to put in a switch that gives quite a bit of headroom, and the one you're using doesn't, ESPECIALLY if your power supply has the passthrough to the monitor.
The fuse will handle surges. the switch is just to isolate the pc. swap the switch out for one that will handle a higher current. Generally speaking you should ALWAYS use equipment rated about 40% higher than what you would normally expect to use.
ie if drawing 10amps you should fit 14amp rated switches etc.
