Why during bad weather do I lose my DISH Network service, but only on the non-local channels?
My local channels are 3, 12, 16, 26, 35 and 40 and they can all be working fine while channels 100 and up are out or coming in and out.

It has to do with the broadcast, the locals are broadcast from within a 50 mile radius using TV towers, Dish network is beamed to you via Space satellites.
The signal from space is more subject to interference via cloud, solar flares and storms, while the local broadcast is closer and more powerful and less affected. .najukjh hjui hbhj j you have got a dish.. the signals are being lost due to the bad weather

local channels could be being sent via a dish very close by but the dish in the sky aint.
the poor weather weakens the reception in the sky and u loose signal...
adam because the local ones are not reading from the dish, which is recieving interference from something. Check for a clear line to the sky, remove any blockages (tree limbs etc) and then contact provider if experiencing repeated losses
