Why does my DVD player recognize CDs but not DVDs?
What is the difference between a DVD and a CD? The player plays CDs but says "no disk" when I try to play a DVD. If I manually spin the DVD it tries to find it, but when I stop, it says no disk. But the player spins and plays CDs just fine. Why does it spin on a CD but not a DVD?

You may want to double check what region DVDs you are using or what Region your DVD player is set to. DVD distributors protect their DVDs to certain regions to stabilize prices within the market. Cause you bought a piece of crap Stop trying to play bootleg movies or get a new bootleg guy. Because it's a CD player. Either your dvd player is broken or its a cd player and not a dvd player although it may be the dvd your using try others or something.
