Who makes the most playable blank DVD?
I have bought several brands of blank DVD's and blank CD's that won't burn or won't play. I think the solution is a heavier disk, so the disk will spin consistently.

Sometimes, it is a compatibility issue with the DVD burner. I had this cheap I/O Magic that would burn the DVD, but would only work in some standalone DVD players. I use Memorex, Imation and Sony blank DVD's and CD's. You may want to change burners. I use an NEC 16x burner that I got for $28 at Newegg.com. Works like a charm. Never had a problem playing DVD's in other DVD players and my blank CD's work great in my car stereo. I thnk techman is going in the right direction. The blank CD's or DVD's are just blank discs. The difference is the writting process. It sounds like your burner has problems or is designed to only burn for certain uses. Try one of your discs in another burner if you know of someone who has one and see if it works better.
