When I had battery replaced in Movado watch, the chronograph would not reset. When I had battery replaced in Festina watch by different jeweler, the chronograph would not reset to zero (although it was very close). Complained to second jeweler about problem and they said it was no way that replacing the battery would cause the chronograph not to reset. I find it odd that I have had that exact same problem with two different watches with two different jewelers. Is this ust a coincidence or is there some special care needed to change a chronograph watch battery?

Changing the battery specifically should not cause this, but fixing it should be rather easy. This should work on your Festina, and I'm guessing the same method would work on your Movado:
1. First pull the crown out to enter into the time-setting mode of the watch.
2. Then press the button used for "reset" for the chronograph.
3. Each time you press the button, it should move the seconds hand forward one second.
4. Once it points to zero, push the crown back in, and now your watch is reset to zero!
