About blocking incoming call waves from reaching a cell phone?

I have heard that keeping a cell phone inside a microwave oven can block the incoming call waves from reaching the cellphone and gives out an"out of range "message to the caller instead of "switched off" message .But unfortunately It didn't work well for me .So I want to know ,is there anything I can do to block the network waves from reaching my cellphone and should gives out the "out of range "message to the caller instead of "switched off " message .Hope someone can help me .Thanks...

If you don't have any idea how cellphones or microwaves work you may not want to try this.

This will work.

If possible find a metal container that is at least 2.5 inches larger than the phone all the way around.

Find a plastic block 2.5 inches tall to set the phone on.

Attach a ground wire to a metal "tin" or container.

Place the phone inside on the plastic block.

Place the lid on the container

Connect the ground wire to a good earth ground.

If it doesn't work check your ground.

Your microwave may need to be checked for leakage...

Plan B use the "Total Recall" method wrap it in a damp but not wet towel make yourself a lead box for the phone.

Wash your hands after using it, and for heavens sake, don't chew on it.
