Well, sort of. iTunes in conjunction with iTunes will automatically change any RealPlayer or Windows Media Player file into an mp3 file that can be read by iTunes. In iTunes, click import, which is under Files, I think, then browse to find the song you're looking for. Then click import. iTunes may propmpt you to authorize its automatic change, then it will do that to all music files which you import.
If you just want to put songs onto your iPod, yes you have to use iTunes. yes, but you need to get a plugin
