Will the Sims card from a Verizon phone work in a Nextel phone ?

Switching plans but love durability of the i560 motorola phone, can't seem to find similar style with verizon.

verizon doesn't use sim cards Verizon is a CDMA carrier and does not take SIM cards. Nextel uses SIM cards, and runs on a completely different standard. I don't know why you would be trying to put a SIM into a Nextel phone as in your question, I think you got that backwards. You meant to say will it work in a Verizon phone, and the answer is just, "no".....they are two different, competing technologies, which are not compatible. A Nextel SIM will not work in a GSM phone either, and they actually do take SIM cards as opposed to Verizon. No it not compatible. No other service will work with another for example, T-mobile sim will not work with a Verizon phone and vice versa. No, good old technology does not allow crossing over, which sucks. One phone company hates the other and try to make things as difficult as possible for us consumers/customers. Is it too much to ask for a little bit of ease in life, i mean shouln't a cell ohone make our lives easier and not more complicated? Yes and No. Yes if the phone is international unlock but no if not.
