Will my cell phone accept international calls if I don't have an international plan?
I turned off my international roaming coverage on my cell phone since I will not be abroad for at least a few months. Will friends I've made in other countries be able to call and/or text my cell phone if I've turned this feature off? I assume it will just be very expensive, but will still work. I have a new(ish) Nokia phone and am on Cingular's GSM network.

I am on Cingular's nationwide plan with no international coverage. THat being said, my brother has lived in Germany for four years and I've never had a problem with him calling me. I am able to receive incoming international calls. I'm not exactly sure why or how, but it happens for me. Hope this helps.

yes, you should be able to recieve calls and messages from outside countries. I don't know how cingular works but I don't get charged unless I have used all of my minutes and this was extra.
