Here's some info that myfriends have told me previously..
I have a friend who has Cingular.. Well, she lives in Florida, and during Hurricane Wilma she completely lost service. Then, here recently, and I live in Texas.. It rained really hard, and Cingular was out all day. So Cingular sucks during storms and such. However, they have great service on nice days.
I have Verizon, and it's great. I've never lost any service except once I think.. During storms, it still works, and it has service about everywhere.
Sprint is supposed to be good, even though the server or whatever is ALWAYS busy.
If you don't travel a lot, and Alltel is near, that's supposed to be good.. However, they may have great service in one metro, and sucky service in another.
Same with T Mobile.. You can get 5 bars ANYWHERE here in Austin, but in some cities, it really sucks.

Personally, I really like Sprint. I've been with them for 6 years, and they're always sending me rebates or free stuff like extra minutes. I know people have bad things to say about them, but I've been very happy with them.
