Can I Have A Contract Mobile Phone At My Age And With My Card?

I am 16 and i am looking to have a contract phone without using my parents debit card. i would like to use my visa electron.

Is this possible?

Short answer NO!

To take out a contract phone you MUST be 18. If you feel you need one and are the person who will be paying then talk to your parents they may take one out for you. Remember though by signing the contract they would be the ones liable for any non-payment, thus affecting their credit rating. So don't be disappointed if they say no. I am sure that to have a legally binding mobile phone contract you must be 18 years of age, but you might be best off contacting indavidual mobile phone operartors to see what they can offer you Hi there,

To have a contract phone the person who signs up for the contract must be aged 18 or over due to the fact contracts require a direct debit which you have to be over 18 to have. The only way you could get a contract is if your parents use there card to sign up for the contract and you pay them back.

You got to be 18 No you have to be 18 to get a mobile phone contract, in fact that goes for any sort of credit. Your parents can however take out a contract for you in their name. No I am afraid that you have to be 18 to get a Mobile Phone Contract & they will not accept visa electron either I am afraid.. Get one when you are working full time and can afford to pay 30 quid a month.
