A few months ago i found a Nokia N73 on the bus!?

I handed it in to the bus company who told me that if it hadnt been collected within 3 months i could either have it or thy would destroy it. I went and collected it today and its asking for a 'lock code' does anyone have any ideas of how i could get this removed etc etc . . . . . .

You could try the default security PIN, which is 12345.

If that doesn't work, take off the battery, find the 'IMEI' number (which is 15 digits long)on the label. Go to http://www.nokialockcode.com/mastercode. and enter the IMEI number in the box and click calculate.

You'll be given a master code. Try it out.

Or else, take it to a cellphone repair shop, ask them to format and reinstall the system for you.

It is likely the owner reported it lost or stolen in which case the phone company has likely locked the phone from external access to protect the person's account, in which case it is unlikely you will get it unlocked by ringing the service provider. Your best bet is to seek advice from the service provider if you know it who might be able to offer you more specific advice. Of course, it all depends on whether the phone is a monthly contract or a pay as you go job. u cant find out the code the person that has lost it has locked it so no one else can use it so u cant use it unlucky If its been report as stolen/lost you might as well bin it

the best thing you can do is take the battery out find out the iemi and serial number get in touch with Nokia

they might just offer a reward as the N73 is worth up to ￡250 and at least you're legal
