Sorry, I could go ON AND ON AND ON, but I won't, I just want you to make a wise decision, and bose is NOT it! They are boomy, tubby, flat, screechy and all around VERY poor performing products!
If you want the best sound, it depends on a huge variety of factors.
1) Are you looking to listen to music exclusively? Or are you looking to make a home theater system?
2) what size room and what furnishings are in it?
3) what is your price range?
4) what type of power (amplification) are you going to use?
5) are you going to set this system up yourself, or are you going to have the system professionally installed and calibrated by a qualified HAA (home audio alliance) calibrator?
There are several other questions but these will get you started.
If you have a high current amplifier like B&K, Krell, Denon, Adcom, Levinson, or others, my favorite speaker brand is Martin Logan.

they are American made electrostatic drivers with a sound so open and transparent that there mere presence in a room imparts a sense of majesty and power. The reason you need a good quality high current amplifier for them is that they are not very efficient and need enough current to let them truly extend their audio range to the fullest.
If you want something that is more elegant and significantly stunning, you might try Bowers and Wilkins (B&W)
