which is the best speaker manufacturer?

Wow, the bose zombies are out in force aren't they!?

Before buying bose (notice I don't capitalize their name because I have NO respect for their brand!) consider several different factors.

1) having sold bose for almost a decade, along with REAL speaker/electronics brands I know from direct experience that bose is one of the cheapest produced, and over priced products on the market.

2) have you ever seen ANY other speaker manufacturers advertise on TV? Do you know that the cost of advertising on TV has added at least 30% to the cost of each and every bose product on the market?

3) have you ever seen bose in comparisons with any other comparable product on the market? Ever opened a Stereophile or Home Theater and Electronics magazine and actually seen bose reviewed by any of the magazines reviewers, or compared to any other system?

4) did you know that you can buy replacement speakers (the paper cones themselves) for about $23 a piece, and yet they charge you THOUSANDS of dollars to buy the brand name! How does that work? Oh yeah, comes back to the marketing costs.

5) did you know that bose spends less on design, quality control and manufacture than any other brand sold in high end electronics retailers, yet they sell for significantly more than similarly equipped systems?

6) as a salesperson, if I had a customer that I couldn't stand, or was just DEAD SET on the bose name, I would sell it happily, because they have a higher mark-up than any other brand in the industry, which meant BIG PAY DAY for me! On the other hand, if I had a customer that I respected, or one that said they were interested in SOUND QUALITY, I NEVER sold them bose!
