_ Hei, always any models in CREATIVE is good. is logitech for sure. klipsch and logitech always seem to get the highest ratings. i have the logitech highly discounted and really like them. please note, however: they all make different levels of quality. you get what you pay for... Logitech is good. And a good bang for the buck. I have two sets and am very pleased with both. If you are really into music (and I am) the best sounding speakers, bar none, are electrostatic speakers. The only products available for desktop use are Monsoon speakers. You might not find them in the stores currently, but they're widely available on e-bay. Be sure to get a set with a sub-woofer and the power supply. If you buy the speakers without the power supply, they will NOT play. You WILL NEED the power supply; they're available on e-bay, too. I have two sets of these. One at home and one at the office. You want the flat panel variety. Look for a MH 500, 502 or 505 (for surround sound). There is also a 700 series. You should be able to get a stereo set with subwoofer, volume control, and power supply for around $50 - $75. Happy listening. To the poster above...Monsoons are not Electrostats...they are Planar Dynamics. If you don't plug the speaker directly into the AC power, is isn't an ESL. Small Planar dynamics have a big issue with output volume and efficiency so they may not be the best bet for somebody who wants to do gaming. Also, Monsoon's existence is in question (check the website...it is kaput).
I personally like the Klipsch computer speakers because they are one of the few that even remotely comes close to being dynamic.
There are also near field powered pro speakers if desktop space isn't a huge factor. I use a pair of Behringer Truth B2031's on my desktop and they sound surprisingly good. If desktop space IS a factor but budget isn't...Genelec makes some small monitors that are astonishing for a few grand a pair.
