110 volts would need 20 Amps to give the same power so......

I assume you are in the USA The same, depending what your kwh charge rate is. You pay for power/energy not the voltage of the supply.

John stick to your US site for electrical questions, the UK has 240v single phase supply, our 3 phase is 380/440 volts, NO domestic premises have more than one phase except for very large electric heating loads. Neither do we have #10 gauge wire etc./grounds, receptacles, 2 pin plugs or black and white conductors!! well, you're billed for KiloWatt Hours, (Time spent using a power rating, and, as was said above, when voltage decreases, current increases, so you don't use less power. 110v is cheaper than 220v
