www.dvdrhelp.com The region code is NTSD. But I have to agree with the guy before me, get a region free player, then you can buy movies anywhere. Look for "multi region" or" NTSC & PAL". silicon group has one for ￡45 which also plays xvid/divx etc. check out your local pc places as they may have cheaper than afgos etc. I just got one as an xmas prezzie for someone for ￡30 from Lidl dvd brands do not determine which will play american dvds or not. american tv's/vcr's/dvd's run on the ntsc system while europe and the middle east run on pal for the most part. those systems determine which dvd's and even video tapes you can play. as the previous person suggested, you can get a multi-regional system dvd player, or you can look for players which play ntsc formatted dvds. players may also say they are for a particular zone, america is considered zone 1 for regions. please see the following website for more info on region compatibilty. http://www.hometheaterinfo.com/dvd3.htm... You'll find a sequence of buttons to press to unlock your player for multi region playability.

Personally I think your better off with a divx player, they automatically play multi region discs, and you can play .avi files on them too. Most Dvd players can play dvds from every region you just need to unlock or hack the software.....Try searching for Dvd unlock codes, or Dvd player hack codes. All D.V.D players can play American ones.Its only a matter of going in to internet and getting the code Dont forget to have ur D.V.D NUMBER handy..... portable and pc
