whats wrong with my home theather system?

I just bought a RCA home theather system also you can call it a sarround sound I really don't care. but its only about 2 weeks old and now every time I cut it on it pops and reads overload on the front, I don't have anything more then what it came with on the system, and the only things I actually have hooked up to it is a DVD player and a VCA nothing else, now can someone tell me what might be going on with this because if my brothers messed this thing up there's going to be some hangings.

The word "overload" means just that. MOST likely you have blown a speaker from playing it too loud, or you could certainly have the wires shorted together accidentally. Check all your speaker connections and make sure that you don't have two bare wires touching together. This is the most common cause of the overload warning. Other possibilities would include an internal fault of some kind. Another check you can do BEFORE returning the item is unplug all speakers from the receiver and turn it on. If the message is gone, then you know at least one of your speakers is the cause. Keep plugging in one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem. Perhaps then you could get only the speaker replaced instead of having to lug the whole thing back. Good luck. You should definitely take it to get checked out it could have something to do with the memory or too many things running at once.
