Any of the above will give you a sound experience way ahead of the cheap mass-market stuff.
(Stay well clear of anything from Bose, though - expensive, poorly made and sounds lousy.) With all due respect to the previous posters...nobody can answer this because every situation is different. I would seek out an experienced AV professional and work with them to help determine what will work for you in your room with your acoustics and your budget. No two circumstances are ever alike. I've set up speaker packages that are $50,000 and speaker packages that are $1500 and within the confines of each budget and the limits of each space, they sounded wonderful.
