i want to know wat exactly pmpo is & wat is the relation between pmpo & rms

Peak Music Power Output and RMS are both intended to provide the consumer with information regarding an electronic component and its performance.

PMPO is mainly a marketing gimmick- it states that under certain conditions, a device will output x amount of power as its maximum.

It is misleading because it doesn't inform the consumer under what circumstances the manufacturer was able to acheive that power output, nor does it state the duration the device was able to continually maintain that level of output.

RMS, or the Root Mean Square method, is a more accurate gauge for you and I as consumers to know what to expect from our electronic equipment. It's an "average", if you will, of the devices performance specifications under "normal operating conditions" and for "an extended period of time". Peak Music Power Output, as opposed to RMS which is the amplifier output rating, do not be conned by pmpo, always go for a higher RMS per channel, it's more truthful. It means Peak Music Power Output. Actually it is the power of sound that the speakers will give if they work at optimal conditions. This is never the case because the output also depends on the player and other things. Since this is the maximum number, this is what it advertised. But if you want to get the real output sound power look for the rms (root mean square) power output. This is a mean or average value and will give you an indication of the actual output. This is mainly hidden in the fine print of the specifications or more importantly....in the user's manual (148th page). You can always ask the dealer for the rms output.
